I believe that someone is missing his brothers this week. He had them home for 2 weeks & tried to monopolize as much of their time as he could. Now he’s stuck with me. 😉 His sister’s here, but she has a lot more school work this year than she had last year. However, we have plenty of things to keep him busy.
If you have not seen nor heard of Jelly BeadZ (water beads, gel balls, etc.), I highly recommend them. I can not keep my hands off of them. They are so therapeutic! Ahem… but more importantly is that children really enjoy playing with them. If they are sitting on the counter, even my 13 year old can’t resist plunging his hands into them. 🙂 (However, I would NOT recommend them to children under three or toddlers who tend to put things in there mouths. No sir-eee.)
We went to the library to get a stack of books & found this thing…
I probably should have opened some of the doors so you could see inside, eh? Basically you match the colors to find the coordinating pictures. Behind the door on the left is a picture along with the first letter of the word. Behind the door on the right is the picture with the rest of the word. For example, one of the pictures was a dog with a “d” and the other picture was a dog with “og”. Wouldn’t it be fun to have one of these & switch out the pictures every week? 🙂
This was an activity that Aaron asked to do. He found the flat marbles on the shelf & asked to play with them. So I got out his favorite rice sensory bin with drift wood & rocks. He was the one who wanted to bury the marbles & find them. I just decided to pull out the tweezers (he calls them his chompers) so that he could work on some fine motor skills. 🙂
That’s all I have for this week so far. Stop back next week to see what we’ve been up to.
Have a great day!
