My Dad is so funny. He’s worked in a restaurant his whole life and has never owned a Crock Pot. Until this year. I’ve never seen him so excited about a kitchen appliance. Now that he’s figured out how to use email he’s been asking me to send him recipes to try in his Crock Pot. Then he asks me if there’s a such thing as a Crock Pot cookbook.


I now have 6 Crock Pot cookbooks on reserve from our library to check out. Guess what will be on the menu for next week!

As for this week…

MONDAY – (M cooks) Honey Garlic Pork Chops, Applesauce, and salad

TUESDAY – (P cooks) Stir fry and Rice

WEDNESDAY – (M cooks) Scalloped Potatoes and Ham with cut veggies

THURSDAY – (M cooks) White Bean & Sausage Soup with cut veggies

FRIDAY – (P cooks) Brinner

SATURDAY – (S cooks) Beef Ragu with noodles and a salad (perhaps a Muffin in a Mug for dessert)

SUNDAY – Chili with noodles

    For the small household that limits red meat: brown two small sirloin or top round steaks and place in crockpot. Sauté onions and mushrooms, and place over the ,eat. Make brown gravy and pour over meat. Cook on low 6 to 7 hours. Fork tender.
